PCB workshop at AVCE

A three days workshop on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering jointly with IEEE student branch of AVCE from 18th July 2019 to 20th July 2019. Fourty Seven students from ECE department got benefitted out of this workshop. The workshop enabled the participants to learn PCB designing basics using Eagle software. Resource persons from Sparrows Innovation, a company registered under MSME, Tirunelveli, guided the students throughout the workshop.

On first day the attendees were introduced to PCB boards, PCB design tools and the manufacturing process. They also learned about part design in Eagle software. Symbols, components and footprints were taught to the participants. On the second day schematic design was taught. The participants practiced schematic design using default library in the Eagle software and later learned to design using custom defined library. They also practiced single layer throughhole and double layer through hole methods of designing PCBs. SMD design and gerber file generation were also taught in the workshop.

On third day the students were given assignments and the participants came up with their

own designs for the proposed problems. The assignments were verified by the resource persons. The participants who completed the workshop successfully were awarded certificates.
