ARTS DAY – AVISTA 2K25

Annai Vailankanni College of Engineering organized its much-anticipated Arts Day – AVISTA 2K25 on 2nd May 2025. The event was a vibrant celebration of talent, culture, and creativity, providing a platform for students to showcase their artistic abilities. Students and staff gathered in large numbers to witness and participate in the evening's colorful proceedings.

The event commenced promptly at 5:00 PM with a soulful prayer song performed by the college choir girls. The welcome address was delivered by Mrs. P. Renuka, Head of the Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering. She extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members, students and guests, emphasizing the importance of celebrating arts alongside academics. A highlight of the evening was the honouring of the Chief Guest, Mr. P.T. Selvakumar, a distinguished Indian film director, known for his contributions to the Tamil film industry. He was felicitated by Dr. Peter Jesudas, Chairman of the college.The moment was marked by a gesture of gratitude and appreciation for his presence at the event by Principal Dr.Angeline Prabhavathy, Vice Principal Dr.N.Abhilash, Manager Mr.Manikandan and Director Mr.David Philip Daniel.

Following the felicitation, Mr. P.T. Selvakumar delivered a chief guest address that was both motivational and thought-provoking. He spoke about the power of art in shaping society and encouraged students to follow their passions and embrace creative pursuits with confidence. His engaging speech resonated deeply with the audience, especially the aspiring artists and performers. The next segment of the program was the prize distribution ceremony, where winners of various cultural events held under the AVISTA 2K25 banners were recognized and rewarded. These events had been conducted in the weeks leading up to Arts Day and included competitions in music, dance, drama, painting, photography, and other forms of artistic expression. The winners received their prizes amidst applause and encouragement from peers and faculty, reinforcing the spirit of healthy competition and celebration of talent.

The formal function concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Bharathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Science and Humanities. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the management, chief guest, organizing committee, volunteers, and participants for their invaluable contributions to the success of AVISTA 2K25. Her thoughtful words acknowledged the behind-the-scenes efforts that made the evening memorable.
