A One-Day
Seminar on Quantum Technology was organized by the Department of Computer
Science Engineering on 16th July 2026 at 10:00 AM by Mr. Chandran M with the primary objective of introducing students to
the fundamental concepts, applications, and emerging developments in the
rapidly evolving field of quantum technologies. The seminar aimed to create
awareness about quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum cryptography,
and quantum sensing, while highlighting their potential impact across various
industries.
The
sessions provided students with an overview of the basic principles of quantum
mechanics and important concepts such as qubits, quantum superposition, quantum
entanglement, quantum gates, and quantum algorithms. The resource person
explained the key differences between classical and quantum computers and
illustrated the potential applications of quantum computing in areas such as
artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, drug discovery, optimization, finance,
and scientific research. Interactive discussions and practical examples enabled
students to understand the relevance of quantum technology in the modern
technological landscape.
The seminar also encouraged students to explore advanced learning, research, innovation, and career opportunities in this emerging domain. The program served as an effective platform for developing foundational knowledge and creating awareness about future technological possibilities. Overall, the seminar was informative, engaging, and academically valuable, inspiring students to take an interest in quantum technology and its potential to shape the future of science and engineering.
