An Anti-Drug Awareness Programme and Campaign was organized by NSS on 11th August 2026 at 10.00 AM to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and illicit trafficking and to encourage them to contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free society. The programme emphasized the importance of making responsible choices, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting collective efforts to prevent drug abuse. Mrs. Selvi, Inspector of Police, Anjugramam, led the awareness campaign and administered the anti-drug pledge, which was solemnly repeated by all the participating students. The programme highlighted the need for students to stay away from substance abuse, discourage their peers and family members from engaging in harmful practices, and support efforts aimed at rehabilitation and social well-being. The event was coordinated by NSS Coordinator Mr. Prabhu, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Ms. Abi Moncy, NSS Volunteer, welcomed the chief guest and dignitaries. Principal Dr. V. S. Dharun presided over the programme and delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the role of students in creating a responsible and healthy community. The active participation of students demonstrated their collective commitment to promote awareness and stand against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. The programme served as a meaningful initiative to strengthen social responsibility, encourage preventive awareness, and inspire students to contribute towards a healthy, safe, and drug-free society.
