The IEEE Students Branch (SB) of Annai Vailankanni College of Engineering (AVCE) (approval pending) organized a special meeting at AVCE on 12th May, 2016 in the presence of Mr. Maria Victor, Correspondent, Dr. Ramasubramanian Principal-AVCE, Mr. Vincent Jain, Chair of IEEE ADSF SIGHT.

Dr. Atmanand, Chair, IEEE Madras section, was the chief guest. He encouraged the students to undertake meaningful project activities. He motivated them on research in the areas of power and energy. He also talked about the need for developing fishermen friendly technologies, for the empowerment of fishermen as well as fisher women.

He affirmed that Annai Vailankanni College of Engineering is exemplary in involving in various projects and is focused on developing the research temper of the students. He also expressed his joy of traveling in the 'Solar Tricycle' developed by the students of AVCE.
Dr. Atmanand visited the Green Lab, a Lab functioning in AVCE exclusively for developing humanitarian technology projects. He also interacted with the students who were involved in making the new solar powered tricycle.
