Veetukoru Vignaani - Science Expo held at AVCE in association with Puthiya Thalaimurai Group

Veetukoru Vignaani is a Science expo organized at AVCE on 10th August, 2018 in association with Puthiya Thalaimurai group to encourage and provide exposure to school students in applied science. Models to save energy and making best the use of alternate sources of energy were the highlight of the event. 

More than 800 students from various schools in kanyakumari, tirunelveli and thuthukudi districts displayed over 400 exhibits in the event.

The program starts with lightning a kuthuvilaku at 9.00 a.m. Dr. Velaiyan, retired scientist (ISRO) gave a chief guest address. Dr. D. Peter Jesudhas, chairman of Annai Vailankanni College of engineering gave a presidential address.

Junior category:

• First prize: Kendra Vidhayala Higher secondary school, Kanyakumari
• Second prize: Ponjesly Matriculation higher secondary school. 
• Third prize: Sree Vivekananda Matriculation higher secondary school, Kootumangalam

Senior category:

• First prize: Carmel higher secondary school 
• Second prize: Amritha Vidyalaya CBSE school Kanyakumari
• Third prize: Ponjesly Matriculation higher secondary school, Nagercoil

Dr. T P D Rajan, principal scientist, CSIR-NIIST was the chief guest in valedictory function. He distributed the prizes for the winners.
