LEGAL AWARENESS PROGRAM

 October 29, 2021

The Department of Science and Humanities organized a Legal Awareness program for the first-year students at our college on October 29, 2021.  The program coordinator Mrs. Shijula Lindry AP/Chemistry delivered the welcome address. Dr. A. Benham, Principal presided over the meeting and delivered the presidential address. He insisted on the importance of creating legal awareness and vigilance awareness among the students. Er. David Philip Daniel, Director explained the aim and importance of vigilance and anti-corruption and the need to have consumer awareness among the students. Dr. Anila Rose, HOD/S&H introduced the Resource Person Adv. Sahila Kumari of Nagercoil District Court, who deals with civil, criminal and consumer cases. She delivered a speech on consumer awareness and the importance of vigilance and anti-corruption in a democratic country like ours. She touched the topic of human rights and domestic violence too in her address. Then, the program was followed with an interacting session.


The students eagerly participated in the interaction, frankly, raised so many questions and the resource Person clarified all their doubts with the real examples she faced in her career. The Convener of the program Dr. Golding Sheeba AP/Physics proposed the vote of thanks, and the program came to an end with our National Anthem. All the first-year students and the members of the staff participated in this program and the students felt that it was very useful to them.
