A seminar on “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace” was
organized by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Women Empowerment Cell
of Annai Vailankanni College of Engineering, Kanyakumari District, on
20.02.2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the College Auditorium.The main
objective of the seminar was to create awareness among students and staff about
workplace safety, women’s rights, prevention of sexual harassment, and the
legal measures available for protection.Mrs. V. Uma & Mrs. Arockiya
Saranya, Gender Specialists, District Social Welfare Office, Nagercoil Mr. E.
Blithe Sudhar, State Trainer in First Aid, Disaster Management and Life Skills
were the resource person for the seminar.
The resource persons also shared real-life examples and
encouraged students to speak up against any form of harassment. They emphasized
gender equality, mutual respect, and building a safe working environment. The
program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the coordinator. Overall,
the seminar was informative, insightful, and beneficial for all participants.
