Two-Day Hands-on Training Program in ''Embedded Systems and Machine Learning (ML)''

 16th & 17th July

A Two-Day Hands-on Training Program in Embedded Systems and Machine Learning (ML) was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering on 16th & 17th July 2026 from 09:30 AM onwards with the objective of equipping students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in emerging technologies while bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial practices. The program was handled by Er. Azar Mohammad & Er. Raghu, Lead Engineer, Matt Engineering Equipment Private Limited, Cochin. They provided participants with valuable exposure to the architecture and applications of embedded systems, microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, communication protocols, Internet of Things (IoT), and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning with embedded platforms. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of Machine Learning, including data collection, preprocessing, model training, testing, and deployment, along with their implementation in real-time applications.

The training emphasized experiential learning through live demonstrations, programming exercises, hardware interfacing, and real-time experiments using embedded development boards and machine learning tools, enabling students to understand the complete workflow from sensor-based data acquisition and processing to AI-driven decision-making. The interactive sessions and expert guidance enhanced students’ understanding of embedded hardware, programming techniques, machine learning concepts, and intelligent system development while encouraging innovation and project-based learning. The successful completion of the program strengthened students’ technical competencies, enhanced their industry readiness, and motivated them to explore project, research, and career opportunities in Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, Robotics, and Smart Embedded Applications. Overall, the program served as a valuable platform for preparing students to meet the evolving technological demands of modern industries and the emerging opportunities of Industry 4.0.
