TCS Ion Regional Operations manager, Mr. Karthik awards prices to AVCE students in software development

AVCE takes pride in organizing student skill development activities with the aim of developing employable engineers. One such initiative is the recent Dennis Ritchie coding competition. As part of this event, the interested students are trained in latest software development technologies during their semester holidays and subsequently they develop useful projects in a coding competition. The winners of the competition are awarded with generous cash prizes.


This year Mr. Arunagiri Karthik, Regional Operations Manager, TCS Ion has kindly consented to be the chief guest for the program held on 26th August, 2016. Mr. Karthik motivated the students on working with a focused mindset, and to be passionate in their work to achieve the best in life. He also insisted the students to be always self motivated and never be let down by temporary failures. He evaluated about 20 projects submitted by the students in the categories of C Programming, Mobile application development and Web application development. Cash prizes worth Rs. 18000 were presented to the winners.

The projects which won the competition are mentioned below :

C Project on College Vehicle Management which literally helps in managing all end to end activities of vehicle from service to maintenance

C Project on Visitor Entry Management which helps in tracking all visitors at one touch
II Prize and cash award of Rs 2000/
C Project on Pharmaceutical Management system to organize and track medicines in Pharmacy company
III Prize and cash award of Rs 1000/
Android app on CGPA Calculator with advanced features
Won the Best App Award with a cash prize of Rs 3000
Android App on Area Calculation
Won II Prize and Cash prize of Rs 2000
Customized Website for Blood Donors with their group and Voluntariness in AVCE
Won I Prize for Website with a cash prize of Rs 3000
Customized Job Portal for Avceiians Now students of AVCE could come across Job Vacancies around the Globe through this website
Won II Prize for Student portal with a cash prize of Rs 2000/
Customized Website for Organic food outlet which describes the importance and sales of organic food and construction customized website for civil Engineers.
Both these websites bagged the III Prize with a cash award of Rs 1000/- Each

Mr. Ravisankar Divisional Head of Tata consultancy services Ion supported the successful organization of the Program. AVCE Chairman Mr. D. Peter Jesudhas greeted the chief Guest .
