World Environment Day celebration at AVCE

World Environment Day was celebrated on 16-06-2017 at Annai Vailankanni College of Engineering.The function started at 10.30 a.m with planting of trees inside the campus.The chief guest Dr. Devaprasath Jeyasekharan, Managing Trustee, Jeyasekharan Medical Trust Nagercoil, planted the first sapling and this was followed by the guest of honour M/S Samson, Inspector of Police, Suchindrum, S.S Davidson, Environment Educator, Mr.Aron Rakesh, AT Broadband Groups and the students.

The Principal Dr. P. Senthil Kumar welcomed the gathering and Dr. S. Chellakumar Rose introduced the chief guest and the guest of honour. The Chief guest Dr. Devaprasath highlighted the importance of solid waste management, so as to make our planet better place to live. He appealed to the participants to spread the message in their neighborhood. Mr. Samson explained the various way of protecting the water bodies in the district. Mr. Aron Rakesh stressed the need to protect the environment and the role of youth in preserving the various objects of nature. Mr. Davidson made a power point presentation emphasizing the need for protecting the flora and fauna in the district.

The meeting came to a close at 11.30 a.m with Mr. Rahul, the placement officer proposing the vote of thanks.
