23rd & 24th July 2026
A two-day hands-on workshop on “Generative AI and Data Science” was conducted by the Department of
Artificial Intelligence and Data Science on 23rd and 24th July 2026 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at
the AI & DS Lab 2,
to provide students with practical exposure to the rapidly
evolving fields of Generative Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Mr.
Gowtham R., Software Developer, Sakthi Software, handled the workshop to provide industry-oriented guidance and demonstrated the
practical applications of modern AI tools and data-driven techniques. The
sessions introduced students to the fundamentals of Generative AI and Data
Science while emphasizing hands-on learning through demonstrations, programming
activities, and practical exercises. Students worked with datasets and explored
key stages of the Data Science workflow, including data preprocessing,
exploration, analysis, visualization, interpretation, and AI-assisted
problem-solving. The
workshop also highlighted how Generative AI can complement traditional Data
Science techniques by improving productivity, supporting data analysis,
generating insights, and assisting in application development. Through
interactive activities, students gained confidence in using AI-enabled tools
and applying data-driven approaches to real-world problems. The workshop
encouraged students to explore innovative project ideas and understand the
growing role of AI in industry and research. Overall, the program strengthened
students’ technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
and created awareness of emerging career opportunities in Generative
AI, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and AI-powered applications.
